Ralph and Bess and the Kids

Ralph Wellons and Bessie Ethel Wyant were married, but I can’t find a record to tell me the date. An obituary will tell us.

They had three children:

Ralph Robert Wellons, my Uncle Bob, was born August 1, 1926 and died in July 10, 2012 at age 85.

Mary Alice Wellons Dixon, my mother, was born May 30, 1929 and died July 26, 2018.

Paul Edward Wellons was born February 20, 1931 and died March 27, 1931.

My mom told me about her younger brother that didn’t make it when I was old enough to know. He lived just over a month and died of anaphylaxis (shock) and appeared to be in trouble from the start. The death notice seems to say that my grandmother had scarlet fever during her pregnancy. My grandmother’s favorite brother was Paul. One of my grandfather’s brothers was Edward. Paul Edward was buried in Maplewood cemetery near Anderson College.
