James H. Wellons

My grandfather Ralph Wellons’ father was James H. Wellons. It’s either Harris or Hiram.

James H. Wellons’ family lives in Wayne Township in Hamilton County, Indiana in 1880. Wayne Township is the location of Clarksville, where my grandfather was born, so they are there for part of 3 generations.

Here’s the listing:

John C. Wellons, aged 41, (my grandfather’s grandfather) was a farmer. He was born in Kentucky.
Sarah Wellons, aged 37, (my grandfather’s grandmother) was born in Indiana.

Their kids at that time included:

William S. 14
Charles L. 12
John W. 10
Eddie U. 8
James H. 6 (born around 1874. This is my grandfather’s dad)

We also learn from the census that John C. Wellons’ parents were both born in Pennsylvania and that Sarah’s father was born in Maryland and her mother was born in Ohio.
